Prayer

Prayer is really important at Church by the Bay. In prayer, we speak to God to express our faith in Him.

  • We thank Him for all that He has done for us in Christ.
  • We say sorry to Him for what we've done wrong (sometimes called confession).
  • And we ask Him for things.

Because God is our loving Father, we can ask him for anything. But in particular, Jesus tells us to pray for what God has promised to do. We are to pray for God to be glorified as His kingdom grows and His will is done on earth (Matthew 6:9-10). In other words we are to pray for more people to come under His rule now...for people to become Christians.

And secondly Jesus particularly urges us to pray for God's provision of all we need (Matthew 6:11) and that He would help us to forgive each other and to protect us from sin (Matthew 6:12). In other words we are to pray for God's people to live as God's people.

Weekly Prayer

Our weekly prayer meetings are on during term time Tuesdays 2pm at our church building, 91 Balmoral Rd.

Monthly Prayer

On the second Sunday of the month we have a Prayer Lunch straight after our morning church service - some food and then time to pray for our mission to the world, and the work of our church as we seek to tell our town the good news about Jesus. Children are very welcome indeed as they pray with us and enjoy time together.
