Proverbs 31:8-9 says: 'Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.'
At Church by the Bay we believe that this is exactly what Jesus does for us: poor, destitute needy people who have done wrong against God and who need a Lord and Saviour to speak up for us.
Christians are Christ’s ambassadors, called to become like him, to represent him on earth and to be above reproach as we do so. We also want to welcome everyone into our church, no matter what their background, to come and meet Jesus, the One who saves. That means our church is welcoming to all, but that as a church we are vigilant to look after those among us who are vulnerable.
We have Safeguarding Co-ordinators who you can chat to informally about anything regarding safeguarding, or raise any concerns you have that relate to safeguarding in our church. You can do that face-to-face on a Sunday morning, or by dropping us an email.
Our safeguarding policy outlines in practical ways how we support and protect those among us who are vulnerable. This policy is here for you to read. If we are all aware of what is best practice for our children and vulnerable adults, we can better ensure church is a safe and welcoming place for everyone and to God’s glory.
