The coronavirus has shaken our normality hasn't it? We're living in a time of uncertainty and anxiety. At Church by the Bay, we want to tell you about the God who cares. We know God cares, because he sent Jesus into this world of suffering and disease and death, and Jesus showed he could do something about it all!
We think this is a great opportunity for you to think about what really matters. Here are some ways we can help you do that:
1. Bible teaching online
Tomorrow night (Wednesday 25th March) we have our next Church by the Bay livestream as we think about: 'What should our first response be to the coronavirus' together.
Get a cup of what you like to drink, get a Bible NIV 1984 is the English translation we use - if you would like to borrow one, get your device and audio ready and tune in here at 7:55pm for an 8:00pm start. Please be reassured we will be following all government advice. We will be trying a new way of doing things, so please pray all goes well, and bear with us, if there are any problems!
On Sunday morning Church starts online at 10:30 (tune in at 10:25 to be ready). There will be downloadable worksheets for kids for the sermon. We also offer a C3 Kids and Tots (our children's groups that normally meet on Sundays) at home session afterwards for families to enjoy together at a time of their choosing.
2. Prayer
At our elders (leaders) meeting Tuesday night (on zoom) we enjoyed a good time of prayer, praying for our Church family. If you have specific prayer requests for the elders, or for the Church, do get in touch, we would love to pray for you.
3. Pop up Cafe online
Our Tuesday pop up cafe has gone online to Facebook: bring your own brew and toast, and come and say hi! There's chat, encouragement, good fun, children's storytime and craft. It sounds like a great time was had by all this morning. Get in touch to join in.
4. Daily 5:30pm email
If you've been along to Church by the Bay or are local and looking for a Church to be part of, then don't wait till we can meet face-to-face, make the most of the daily encouragement, thought and prayer by letting us know you'd like to receive our daily 5:30pm email.
5. Questions
If you're not a Christian and you've got questions about what we believe, please do let us know - we're here to help. We'd love to tell you more about our unchanging God in these ever-changing times.
