Genesis 12-25 Bright Hope for Tomorrow

In Genesis 4-11  - the descent of man - we saw the continued rejection of God and His Word. Every inclination of people's hearts is only evil all the time (Genesis 6:5). And yet at the very same time we saw the commitment of God to his world, and His grace at every turn - even in His judgements.

In our current series in Genesis 12-25 we're seeing God's promises to Abraham that are for the whole world. God's covenant, His bond of love, his sure promise to Abraham to bless him, and give him all good things is fulfilled in Christ Jesus and offered to us today. Surprising as it may seem, these ancient chapters could not be more relevant to us and are just what the world needs to hear.

The series title comes from the hymn, Great is Thy faithfulness:

Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
