A year in numbers

By Gerry Straker, 16 Jun 2015

This is the presentation we showed at our annual Church meeting. As you can imagine, there have been downs as well as ups, and the whole of church life can’t be reflected in a presentation, but I hope you find it encouraging: we did!

Our average on a Sunday is 57 (well, 56.94 to be more precise). Ray Evans says:

A church which starts with, say, thirty people could realistically look to doubling its attendance as the horizon for which to aim. To see that in seven years would mean growing by 10% each year. To be part of it all is exciting and encouraging. Yet even if small churches don’t quite see that kind of rapid growth… (Ray Evans, Ready Steady Grow, (Leicester: IVP, 2014), 27-28).

We started with 29 people. On a Sunday, we’ve almost doubled in 4 years, not 7: that is more than rapid growth! We thank God for His work among us.
