Prayer
Prayer is really important at Church by the Bay. In prayer, we speak to God to express our faith in Him.
- We thank Him for all that He has done for us in Christ.
- We say sorry to Him for what we've done wrong (sometimes called confession).
- And we ask Him for things.
Because God is our loving Father, we can ask him for anything. But in particular, Jesus tells us to pray for what God has promised to do. We are to pray for God to be glorified as His kingdom grows and His will is done on earth (Matthew 6:9-10). In other words we are to pray for more people to come under His rule now...for people to become Christians.
And secondly Jesus particularly urges us to pray for God's provision of all we need (Matthew 6:11) and that He would help us to forgive each other and to protect us from sin (Matthew 6:12). In other words we are to pray for God's people to live as God's people.
On the first Sunday of the month we meet in the afternoon - usually at 4pm - to pray for the church family, and the work of our church as we seek to tell our town the good news about Jesus. Children are very welcome indeed. We invite little ones to join us for a short time to pray before they go off and play. Children then have their own tea at 5pm.
We also have a meeting once a month on Thursday morning at 7am just to pray for the good news to spread in Morecambe. This is usually the third Thursday in the month.
See our Events page for the exact dates.
