Support
The book of Philippians in the Bible is all about partnership in the gospel. The Philippian Church supports Paul in his ministry in three ways: they pray for him (Philippians 1:19); they send Epaphroditus to help Paul in his ministry (Philippians 2:25); and they send money for the work (Philippians 4:18).
As we seek the advance of the gospel in Morecambe, we find that we need the very same three things from people outside the church who are committed to the same gospel of Jesus Christ: prayer, people, and money.
1. Prayer
Prayer is our number one need. On our own we can do nothing: we are completely dependent on God for everything. We need people who will commit to praying for us. Either contact us here or download the Supporters Form to the right and send to Mrs Chris Betteridge.
2. People
We have a great team of people, but we would love it if more keen Christians saw Morecambe as where they could serve Christ as you 'continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling' (Philippians 2:12). Please contact Gerry Straker here if getting involved in this Morecambe gospel work is something that excites you.
3. Money
Despite the generosity of our sending church - Moorlands in Lancaster - and the launch team, like most new works, Church by the Bay won't initially be financially viable without external support. We do not have any high earners and Morecambe is not a wealthy area. However, as the work grows, we aim to be fully self-supporting in 5 years time.
We would love individuals and churches to commit to support us for the first 5 years. However, since we expect our dependency on outside support reducing, so we would also love to have people give 'one-off' gifts to help us in those first two years. We would be very grateful for any gift however large or small that will help this gospel work in Morecambe to go ahead. If you are able to give to this work, please download the supporters form on the right.
